Need to find out what it is!! Saw it at Chelsea and again at Hampton Court on TV! - (used on the Anglican Green & Black & White Stand) It's not Gypsophelia ... but the same principle ... extra large white flowers on tall grey stalks, above large leaved grey floiage ... giving a 'cloud ' effect ..... Any ideas ?

I can't seem to find a plant list for Hampton court but on the list for Chelsea the only white flowers that I have seen are :
Allium ?jesdianum/?rosenbachianum ‘White Empress’ - Avon Bulbs
and
Campanula ‘Jenny’ - Hardys Cottage Garden Plants
Not sure if that helps at all - I could well have missed something.

I think there's a white variety of Thalictrum - could that be it Flo?

Nope! Grows like thalictrum and gyp, leaves as a basal plant, flowers up in the air 1-1.2 mtr spread!

I was thinking about Crambe cordifolia, but I don't remember seeing it on the programme. I seem to remember seeing a cow parsley look alike though. Crocus have Selinum wallichianum which might be it. Or Anthriscus sylvestris Ravenswing, but it has black foliage.

I've just had a look at the BBC site for Hampton Court, and there is a photograph of the garden in question, with the white flower. If you wanted the same effect, you could try the Crambe, but it needs a huge amount of space, at least 4-5' square as the leaves are massive. Still looks like a posh form of cow parsley to me.
