My Dad is interested in buying one of those Dulux Paint Pod machines, but I can't seem to find much about them online. They are around £70 for the basic machine and then around £30 a time for special 5 litre packs of paint in various colours. It all sounds wonderful in the Dulux leaflet, but then for a minimum first use outlay of £100, it wants to be. I am inclined to think that it may well prove to be a very expensive toy which will never get a second outing, but I may be wrong. Has anyone else got one, and if so are they worth the outlay or a complete waste of time/money?

Not really but he is a sucker for gadgets. I suspect that Dulux would think him the perfect customer! ;D

They sell them at B&Q. If he's over 60 and goes there on a wednesday, he'll get 10% off too.
Personally, I think they're a waste of money. Great if you've got a helluva lot of decorating to do but for the odd room, it's pointless.

Yes he's well over 60 AL. 77 in fact! ;D Not quite the age to be tangling with new fangled gadgets etc. I think I may well talk him out of it. Having found out a little more online this evening it looks like the cleaning process is not as straightforward as Dulux make out and that will definitely put Dad off if there's a lot of faffing about.

Well, I thought it best to ask and not assume And you're never too old to mess around with gadgets! But it does seem rather pointless if you're not a full time painter and decorator and I don't think even they would bother with it!

He's quite good with mechanical things FB, but I've put him off the Dulux just on the cleaning aspect.

I saw one being demonstrated at B&Q on Saturday........it did look quite good but when the guy 'cleaned' it the paint was still visible in the pipe and on the roller.......
