Something completely different..........

I know this is s'posed to be the GARDEN gallery but it IS the place to post pics and I just wanted to share these with you. OH noticed them coming over............



One came closer and closer.......



'Til it was right overhead...........





Then flew away............



Then came the next one and, unbeknown to me I caught one of our local squadron of Dragonflies in the pic..........








Then they were gone and there was just the sky.......





The dog (and all the neighbourhood dogs) were beside themselves............they don't like the noise when the gas is fired. It was quite magical tho'. Although we see them often (in GOOD weather) they don't usually come this close. Once tho', on a dog walk, one came down in the field we were walking in. Shame the dog was off the lead............................he kept us in sight but kept several hundred yards away for quite a long time before we persuaded him to come back to us!!!

The one from right underneath could be used for one of those competitions where the photo is shown close up and you only get to see it moving away very slowly. ;D

Our dogs go mad at chinook helicopters. I think it's the double whap whap you hear from the two sets of rotors. They're fine with all other aircraft, even the Apache which hover over the trees at the end of the garden. Mind you we did have a pair of chinooks over so low last year everything rattled badly and even one of the chickens flapped her way over the 6ft trellis! Not bad for a bird that doesn't fly. The dogs took offence to that.
