Boudica on a chariot drawn by heavy horses - wielding a sword and a flaming torch - followed by a procession of Druids in white and purple robes, with the Green Man effigy in the centre of the arena, representations of all our ancient monuments, the industrial revolution - steam engines, followed by classic cars, Rolls Royce and Jaguars, and then Big Al lighting the Olympic torch ;D

Must have a red London bus in the parade too! And don't forget the Red Arrows flyover! Personally, I expect it to be a fiasco . Did you know that the consultants they have hired to advise them on keeping costs down were paid £87 million last year?

Hia Jenny - I'm back!!! ;D
I really can't get excited about us holding the Olympics in 2012. I think our country is too small and overcrowded to be able to properly sustain the whole thing, I don't see how people from the North of England can easily get there to see any of the games, and quite frankly I think it's a joke the way the finances have spiralled out of control. As an example of how NAFF the Government and their Accountants are, OH's company initially refused to bid for any of the Olympic building projects, even though they were invited to do so. It turns out that some of the jobs were being estimated without VAT added - and this is by the Government's Accountants! OH's company is now building the velodrome, and another specialist building, but of course they are probably now able to dictate what sum they receive for doing the job. It's crazy!
Oh and I'm furious that the Government has taken funds from charities to help fund the games too. Don't get me started on that one!!! ;D
