We are getting plagued by these beasts which are now the size of a small child. I've never seen house spiders so big and we're getting a couple a bloody week in our house. I'm not a lover of them but would never kill one but, as i'm the man of the house, it's left to me to get rid of them. I cought one this morning in a pint glass and when it stood up on it's back legs to try to get out, it's front legs weren't far from the top.

My parent's get looooooooooads what with them living next to a large field. We call them all Eric. Which is why I wasn't keen on having a dog with the same name! We've been quite lucky in this house so far, no monsters. The small ones I can cope with, I fear the large ones are the type that will crawl into your bed at night and throttle you so I make the OH put them outside. That's if the cats don't eat it first...

I've had a few over the last couple of days....but not the big ones, last year they were huge. I keep a glass handy to catch them then toss the out into the garden.

Every room in the house must have at least 5 big spiders but most of them look as though they are clutching egg sacks at the moment. I don't mind spiders but I collect them up in a big jug and throw them out - if they are holding 100'sof potential baby spiders they can have them out in the garden - they will probably all move back in at some point! ;D
