Does anyone have any idea what this little flower may be. The under-side of the flower, slightly resembles a cornflower. It is one of the flowers that has come up from a packet of RSPB wild flower seeds. Many thanks

Hi Dr Bill
I'm not sure that it is as the way the flower petals are seem a bit different, and the "thistley" looking bit under the petals just seems a bit different too.
Then again, it may be a rogue cornflower, I don't know !! ;D

It's a knapweed Bagpuss.
To find your love: -
They pull the little blossom threads From out the knapweed button heads Any put the husk wi many a smile In their white bossoms for a while Who if they guess aright the swain That loves sweet fancy trys to gain Tis said that ere it’s lain an hour Twill blossom with a second flower And from her white breasts handkerchief Bloom as they had ne’er lost a leaf
