I am no expert so can only share what I've found RBJ - it seems like a good time to plant them, and they are fairly hardy ... have a read, see what you think I want one now (naughty girl!) www.absolutewonder.com/tricyrtis.htmlx Tig

I've got toad lilies RBJ and they are delightful. Mine are in a slightly sheltered shady spot in fairly clayish soil, and pop up every year. I should warn you that they always come up late in the season so every year I think I've lost them, but mine are in bud at the moment and will be flowering at any moment. Ask if you've got any more questions and I'll try and help, but they are a plant I can ignore most of the time, until they flower of course

I've got a white one and a pink speckled one, both purchased in the last 12 months ish. They like partial or full shade and a moist but well-drained humus-rich soil. Saying that mine are in part shade and a dryish free draining soil and have survived so far. I think they die down over winter and benefit from a good mulch. Both mine are in full bud atm but have some sort of rust patches on the leaves probably caused by all this wet we've had. I've noticed some on the leaves on the right of the photo in the link Tig posted.... Anyone else got/had this problem with theirs ? ?

It is a beauty though Plocket I wonder if the diluted milk solution would help with the rust x Tig

Hehehe! I always worry about mine but every year it comes up later than everything else. Give it time RBJ - you'll be rewarded eventually

I have two I bought this year (after my seed sowing attempts failed - see RF I do have failures ). Do they need to establish themselves for a while before they will flower? I will be thrilled if I get a flower this year, but won't hold my breath. x Tig

I think the photo is lovely too Sunny but it wasn't taken this month so I am sorry but I can't allow it for POTM, I am afraid. RF I wondered about that Rf. They are late summer bloomers here so I was surprised to see one apparently in bloom at this time. I've got one - had 2, but one has disappeared - that is about that same colour, and yes, they are late to show each season. Mine has just started to show new growth from its winter dormancy/disappearing act. It's looking good though, and has come back with a bigger "clump/spread" than last year. The slugs haven't really gone after mine. I guess they have enough hostas to chew on. i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/sad.gif

The slugs don't really go for mine too much either. At the moment I keep moving the sunflower seedlings around the garden because they are being munched to death so I think the slugs are too busy to go for my toad lilies.

Mine are about a foot tall now so doing nicely. Hope yours come soon Chuckles Mmmm I'm worried now, just been and checked the 2 places where mine are and nothing is showing. They have been smothered by other over hanging plants so I've had a snip and will check in a few days, I daren't rummage about incase there are shoots under ground as I'm sure to break them off.
