I was in town at lunchtime today and I saw an old mate who I hadn't seen for about 5 years. We stopped for a chat and had a bit of a laugh. A couple of names came up in conversation, one of whom I said I hadn't spoken to for about 2 years. I hadn't got back to work more than half an hour when my phone went and it was the guy I'd just been talking about. How strange is that ?
It got me thinking about other coincidences that have happened to me. The most spooky of these was when I went on holiday to Tenerife with my brother and a mate a few years ago. On our first night, we wandered around Puerto de la Cruz for a while and then went into a bar. It could have been any bar but when I went in, the barman looked slightly familiar. We got chatting and it turned out that he used to live in Felixstowe (about 25 miles from me) and he used to play football for Felixstowe Town in the same league that I was playing in at the time.
As if that wasn't coincidence enough, while we were chatting some other english folks came in. They sat at the bar and we got chatting about where they were from (I recognised their Northamptonshire accent because that's where I originate from). They happened to be from the town I was born in and, believe it or not, they lived 3 doors away from my aunt & uncle and knew them well !!! They took our photo and when they showed my aunt & uncle their holiday snaps, they nearly had a fit !
Amazing huh ? Anyone else had any strange coincidences ?

When my kids were young (not that long ago : , they would frequently say they had been going to a friends, the library, after-school club, etc when they didn't appear home at the expected time, or should have been somewhere else. Amazing how many times one of my friends just happened to spot them, usually up to no good!, and the look on their faces when confronted was unbelievable! To this day they still don't know how I knew where and what they were up to, well they might now if the read this

I was on my way into Manchester for a night out with GF's and the name Carlos came into my head for no reason
I knew him about 20 years ago and never really gave him a thought until then
And of course you have guessed it - I met him later that night in a bar
Many spooky coincidences have happened to me one in partic
I was looking at my washing machine whizzing round with clothes inside and thought Hey what the heck would happen if it stopped worked and all the water flooded out - my worst nighmare
10 seconds late it flooded out; my kitchen floor a flood within minutes
These are probably not coincidences more like premonitions

My mum, sister and I were walking back thru Altrincham to where our car was parked and one of them made a joke about the car being nicked. Lo and behold! The car wasn't there when we got back and we had to get the bus home. I was well miffed because my colouring book was on the parcel shelf... and no it wasn't just last week, I was quite young. But I got to speak to a policeman! So the day wasn't a total loss ;D I was just the other day about to pick my phone up and text my friend when she texted me and we don't normally text each other very often. I get a song in my head and my dad will start singing it not long after and seeing as we don't live together anymore, it's not as though we'd both been listening or watching the same thing earlier to get the tune in our head. I know EXACTLY where to find other people's stuff, shame I can't do it with my own... I was thinkin about a guy I used to work with the other day on the way home from work and then when I got home, there was a facebook request from him to be "friends". I couldn't remember his surname (not uncommon for my memory!) so I couldn't have looked for him. I also have a lot of de ja vu from my dreams which freaks me out a little.

Me and my OH do that a lot too SO They say that modern humans have lost their "sixth sense", but I think a lot of us still have vestiges of it left. Spooky!
