Hi i want to plant a laural hedging in my garden. My friend has lots of laural and has said i can come and dig up some for my garden. The laural ranges from 3ft to about 7ft tall. How do i go about moving the laural from my friends garden to mine? Will the plant survive if moved now? Any advice will be much appreciated. thank you.

if you have any sacks you can wrap them in, that would be good , try and get a good deal of soil on the root, water well after planting, and you should be fine.

Now is the time for taking cuttings, it may be easier to take cuttings than digging up and transporting grown bushes.
My neighbour recently bought the property next door to me, he has the advantage that he owns a road contracting company so has the equipment to rip out 30 yards of the front hedge and replant. I have just taken 66 cuttings for him to plant next year.
My property was prone to flash floods (water flowing from the land next door), he has raised the level of his land at the back of mine, which has stopped this happening. So this is one way I can repay him.
