Hi folks, haven't been here of late, for, as some of you know, my wee Mum died. It was her funeral today. She was a poor soul in the last few weeks, but to reach 92 and still be going strong meant she was very lucky, as were we. I'm still not quite up to posting, but I'll be here quietly reading all your posts, and catching up on your news. Hope you are all well

I'd noticed you hadn't been around for a while but I just thought it was part of the usual "people come, people go" of messageboarding.
Very sorry to hear your news WeeT. My sympathies and condolences on your loss.

Well, it comes to us all, this loss, doesn't it? I was so fortunate that Mum's going was in the natural order of things, bet she breathed a sigh of relief that she could finally put her feet up and have a rest. ;D I had a little tea party here after the funeral, and while I was preparing it, I could here her voice in my ear, giving out the orders and instructions like she always did. She was never a woman to sit back and let others do their own thing, nor did she think anyone could do anything as well as she could. (Bet there are some of you identifying with this!) Thank you all for your messages, and Biggles, you did not put your foot in it. You were thinking of me, how could that be wrong? I'm taking Dad out today. We were tied to the house before, neither of us had much of a life before, so I want to give him some happier times. And I'll be able to start doing things alone too. I haven't had a social day out since Christmas, and have been missing my friends. Because people in the house upset Mum, they couldn't visit me either. Also, I'll be able to go out and about with the wee chap. No complaints, I accepted that as the way things had to be for a while. And next week I will start on the garden. I was ashamed of it yesterday, it was looking so BAD. Better away get dressed, still sitting drinking tea in my pyjamas Love to all, F xxx

Dear WeeT so sorry to hear your mum died. I have only just noticed this post and I have been wondering what had happened to you as you hadn't been on the boards. I hope your dad is not taking it too badly and hope that he will continue gardening. My pa died 3 years ago yesterday and my mum and I have been feeling sad too. My love to you and just take it easy for a time until you feel ready to get out in the garden again. Julia xxxx

Wee T, I am sorry for your loss, I have not really been paying attention to the board & have only just see your post!
A sad time for you and your Dad, and at times like this no one is sure what to say but........
Take comfort in some small way that she is not in pain. She is not so very far away, in fact wherever you go she is there with you, in your heart & in your head. Though you are sad now & the feeling is raw, your Mum would hate to see her wee girl upset.
When you hear a song that she would like, or a flower in the garden that she loved, she will be there, as you do the things she would love & smile - she is there. As you do the things she wouldn't like & she would complain - she is there. You will have memories to treasure and think of fondly in time.
Kind thoughts Genie x

Dear Wee T.
I, like some others, have not been around as often as I would like of late and I missed this post.
Losing a loved one, especially your Mother, is a major event in your life and one you will not get over easily.
My thoughts are with you at this time and I do hope that you will soon be back to full strength and able to participate in the board.
Your Father must be very elderly too, so no doubt he will occupy a lot of your time. He is very fortunate to have you!
In the meantime, I hope the pictures I post as summer arrives here will help you to get over your loss.

Dear WT, I hope the memories of the good times you shared with your Mum are helping you get through this difficult time. Do look after yourself too, I'm happy you have good friends and family to help. It's still early days but remember spring follows winter and good memories can never be lost. Big hugs.
