Quite surprising the amount of colour around at this time of the year.
Fuchsias and Dahlias are looking superb now and the blues of ceratostigma, caryopteris and perovskia brighten things up.
Also, there's quite a few second flowerings around at the moment...penstemons and helianthemum are to name a few.
And dont forget the irresistable aroma of Eleagnus...not a traditional garden shrub but if pass by a park with them in, they smell devine.
Anything else ?

My rudbeckias are doing well as is the solanum and quite a few roses and of course the grasses like miscanthus are coming into their own.
Also the colours of the leaves is starting to notice. The Vitis coignetiae is just starting to blush and the Parthenocissus has already turned.
It is a shame about the slow demise of the horse chestnut begining to show. They turn earlier each year now, still a beautiful tree though.

Cosmos and sunflowers are the stars of my garden at the moment. Also the winter pansies have started to bloom and of course the sedum spectacular starting to colour. I think it suffered badly with being thinned out learlier this year but it was just too big I had to do it.

I have Rudbekia,Cosmos,Penstemons,Begonias.Marigolds.Winter Pansies,Clematis Dr Ruppell the odd rose and my Jasmin is flowering right now and Hydranga. Even my Hostas are looking not bad despite the holes by the slugs I have pulled up a lot of bedding that was still flowering but i would rather do that on a sunny dry day than a cold wet one.
