I am now considering using one of the products recommended a while ago to clear blanket weed. What I was wondering would it be better to leave it now until spring so that it clears and I can then plant up or can I do it now and then plant in spring.  I am thinking of buying Cloverleaf blanket answer as recommended by andy. CJ |

Leave it untyil April CJ....i used the cloverleaf stuff in April 2007 and haven't had a strand of blanketweed since...recommended by most kio keepers.
Plant up whenever you want...cloverleaf doesn't affect plant life

Thanks Andy. I will try this as all the reviews on it are excellent, and of course your recommendation!!
Not sure what plants to put in, the pond is only about 3 x 2 metres and 1 metre deep so donet want to overcrowd it.

That's good to know about. I don't get much of the stuff (probably because of the lack of sunshine :  but what I do get is a pain. I try winding it up on a stick, but it brings all the other plants with it. |
