I would sell: Ferns Leafy exotics (of course I would have a HYOODGE GH) Culinary Herbs A few annuals and perennials...but only stuff I like to grow myself. Houseplants of a leafy persuasion.... Plants for sale would be kept in tip-top condition, pots clean and weed-free. Everything would have a good comprehensive care label. The GC would have to be beautiful...so that shopping there was a pleasure in itself. The tea shop will serve calorie-free eccles cakes and chocolate-fudge cake as well as fruit teas and fresh coffee. Parents with ill disciplined children will be escorted off the premises, but well behaved children will be given a free ice cream or other seasonably appropriate reward (as they leave). An OH creche might be an idea...with PS3, PCs and XBoxes....all soundproofed of course. *sigh*

Well, we're well staffed then. ;D ;D
And I was thinking of an OH drop off CPB!!! There's one in a shopping mall down here, comfy sofas, loads of car mags etc, somewhere they can moan about the vagaries of women and how empty their wallets are going to be.
(OK I know there are some fellas on here who want to be a part of if all, but Foz is becoming an honorary, andy has an advice centre to open and FA and FB can supply the veg for the shop. Moley has the honey for the tea cakes and Spru can be in charge of advertising. Anyone else of the male pursuasion who does not want to be in the drop off point, state your case here.)

Any mooring site at our GC? I can borrow the Flying Dutchman. ;D It can double as an il mannered parents rehab center ;D I always feel badly behaved children are either ill/not feeling well or badly raised in which case we need to focus on the parents.
So we are going to get a franchise of the Diggit in the GC?

Aah yes Ruthie..... but then we'd have the problem of where to locate it??!! ;D Bu***r it ! I keep doing that......... not realising that the posts have strayed over onto the next page!!!!!!! As I've never watched Dr Who - the tardis leaves me cold ( as does David Tennant ) but jet propelled boots would be good, then we'd never be late for work ;D ;D

Am I still in charge of the Tea Rooms? Tigs Tea Rooms sounds quite quaint Don't forget we need some fellas for security - don't want any out of hours raids on our prize plants, not forgetting the delicious pastries, desserts and cakes. We can sell home made pickles, chutneys and jams too

Tig, OM may be able to help with the home made pickles etc. He's got a bit of a cottage industry going. I pledge that, if I win the lottery, I will buy a piece of land, several acres, so we can make our dream a reality!!! (Don't hold your breath tho'. I don't actually do the lottery )

Sorry but if I win the lottery I'll be opening a cat sanctuary lol My sister and I both agreed on that.
If I won the Euromillions and had more money than I knew what to do with, then I'd open a nursery too.

Very benevolent of you April! Come to think about it we could have a cat sanctuary at the Nursey and do on the spot vetting of potential adoptive parents!!! If needed I could do home visits. I have an idea of what cats require being a fairly well trained cat carer myself!

Just as an aside, if I may, when I was a young thing, just married, I was torn between being a gardener and being a cat breeder! We had Siamese cats and bred the female once. Had 6 kittens...............I can still remember the joy and the worry, they eat a lot once they're weaned and we didn't have much money then. Made not a penny profit from selling them. So I decided to be a leisure gardener and a full time Civil Servant!

;D ;D I wanted to open an old age home for cats who's owners were not there for them any more once. I think it was because a couple of ladies near me had to go into a home and their elderly cats were put up for rehoming. I ended up rehomeing OH's ex's cast offs because she was too selfish instead!! (that's Oscar, Foxtrot and Izzy not OH!) Anyway................ The Flying Dutchman sounds a good idea. Perhaps we could adapt it to have a huge conservatory thing on it for Andy's exotics and it could go south to keep them healthy for the winter months.

Yes, this is all OK. But from a business perspective what are we going to do in the winter months when folk stay indoors and don't visit the GC - My tea shoppe won't generate enough funds to keep us all in bread and milk! Anyone want to be Santa? ;D

After all this, just a minor question.. ( Cat sanctuary, Old folks home, Tea room or two, loads of different plants including tropical beauts in huge glass house.) How big is our plot? All of the Isle of White ?

I nearly have a nursery at the moment ;D Just before Mum died, I took about 400 cuttings, of anything I thought would work. I didn't look at them for about three weeks, and hardly any of them had failed to root. It took three big bags of compost to pot them on. So, now we have stock, where are we setting up?
