Can't find the old thread I first asked this question on, so please bear with me!! I want to grow roses and clematis up posts and along ropes. Do I need climbing or rambling roses? Which varieties would be good for such a project? Pruning advice, as they will be mingling with clematis'. Site is South / Southwest facing, good soil, acid end of neutral, quite sheltered position. West Cornwall is not a noted rose growing area, but I have seen it done. Weather - frost free but damp!! Thanking you in anticipation of some great ideas

Got a catalogue from Cants roses today ( I chose them because I used to live in Colchester ). When I ordered the catalogue on the internet, I added a note saying about my new project. Imagine my delight when, with the catalogue there was a note saying that they had marked suitable roses for me - they had, too, in biro next to the piccys. What a nice touch. That's what I call 1st class service and I shall definitely be ordering from them. Well done Cants ;D
