They are lovely Plocket! I especially like the combination of white and gold in the first picture. Your Mum is so fortunate to have a daughter like you who brings her roses!

I don't usually treat her Roan - it's usually just a bottle of wine if we stay

Lovely rose Plocket! It's our Wedding Anniversary on Sunday. I don't get roses for my wife, just a card with roses on it! We do go out for a nice meal though.

Why thanks Plocket and Dutchy! We have decided not to go out for a meal after all, but will make pigs of ourselves at home instead! OH is going to 'cook' the prawn cocktail (a reminder of our wedding when we had bucketsful left over and ate them for a week - no kidding)! We still love them! ;D Meanwhile, I will cook a roast with vegetables from our garden. OH will make a trifle for dessert (another favourite laced liberally with sherry of course)! All this will be liberally sprinkled with a nice red wine! BTW we will drink a toast to you and your hubby Plocket and all our friends on GW! We have lots of roses in our front garden, so OH may pick a few to make a nice display on our Dining Room table.

Thank you Ladynovicegardener & Plocket! We are having a lovely day. It's sunny, warm and just a gentle breeze blowing. In the morning we went to the Gisborne Rose Garden and in the afternoon we pottered in the garden. Shortly we will be preparing dinner and a nice relaxing evening. here are a couple of pictures of some of the roses my wife picked from the garden today and put on display in vases. The scent of roses in the lounge and dining room is delightful . . . . and romantic too!

Oh those are just stunning! I always thing cut roses look better than forced "bouquet" roses - they look so much more natural

I really like those little ones. Thanks for posting this pic.
