Saw these on my travels, and thought what a nice thing to be able to do - high maintenance, but it gives a view through from their conservatory and retains something of it's boundary-marking point. OM.

I prefer them as a fence. No cutting at all

OM. Although I normally detest leylandii I have to agree with you OM that is rather I nice thing to do with them. As you say high maintenance, but the effect is pleasing. It's a pity most folk just let them grow and grow and grow and grow when they can be useful. Be a doddle to trim if you had a cherry picker Andy ;D I loved what you did with yours Dutchy you really made good use of those trunks

There used to be some in the back garden here that were very very tall. They were cut down eventually but there are still some next to the dairy and alongside someone else's garden further down. They're proper full blown trees now. Hyuuuuuuuuuge.
