I took advantage of the fact that Wilkinson's are selling their Spring bulbs off half price, and have bought 20 Anemones "Blanda Mixed" Bulbs for 75p!
However, looking at the bulbs it doesn't look particularly obvious to me which way up to put them in. Does anyone have any tips?
Many thanks.

I do know that you are supposed to soak the bulbs for a couple of hours to get them to sprout quicker - however I don't think that I would do it if you are planting them now.
It doesn't matter which way you plant anemone bulbs - they find their own way as far as I know.
One trick with bulbs if you do not know which way to plant them is to plant them on their sides.

Knobbly looking things if I recall BP ;D they should have a flatter side to them and that is the top. It's not always easy to tell though so don't worry too much, like RF said they will find their own way I've never had any look with them but do like them, maybe I should have another attempt at growing them.

Yes do soak in cold water ( unless you garden on soaking wet clay when they won't make it anyhow) and when in doubt set on their side as RF already told you, that usually allows everything to grow as it should. Roots down and plant up that is ;D In my soil, cold and wet, they do not make it alas. Good buy though nice bargain.

Many thanks all.
I got them in yesterday afternoon, while the weather held off. I didn't soak them though as it has been, and is likely to continue to be, very wet weather. Hopefully they will be ok. I don't have clay soil in my garden. As it was originally a tarmac "yard" and I have had to get soil in to fill the raised bed, I have a mixture of some local soil (sandy), shop bought top soil, a bit of multi-purpose (reduced peat) compost which has occasionally been mulched with well rotted manure.
I also got my other bargain planted, some Allium Unifolia (pale pink) in as well. 60 bulbs £1. Passed half on to my Mum though, as definitely not enough room for 60.
