I'm just wondering if you could give me your opinion.
I had a discussion with Mrs FA yesterday about this time of year and I said I prefer the cold wet windy weather to hot dry and humid. I prefer walking the dog on a dark, windy, cold night and if it rains while I'm out, all the better ! Last night I was out with Fickle and it was blowing a gale. I was on my way home when it started to rain so I went a longer route home so I could stay out for a bit.
I don't know why but I just love the Autumn and Winter months, I love the cold and I love to be out in the rain !
Am I just odd or is there anyone else out there who thinks the same ?

well you did ask ;D I like the cold dry days, not windy and wet, except when I am cuddled up in bed listening to it.

You are odd, FA, to the extent that there is very little hope for you I'm afraid

I like to be out when it is blowing a gale - the noise of the trees is very exciting but erm rain

I find it much more comfortable to try and warm up than cool down.
I sleep (ha ha in my insomniac case) better in the cooler winter than the hot summer. We've just had air con installed to help with that problem.
I like the warm sun and all it brings but find I can be incredibly lazy and nothing gets done, I don't feel good on lethargy but am very prone to it!
The winter is the busiest time of the year for us anyway especially socially and I love it because of that.
Autumn is the best smelling season.
The sky is at it's clearest and most dazzling.
You can seen so much more of the countryside with no leaves on the trees.
My OH is the same apart from he sleeps longer in the heat!!
We can all be odd together if you like FA. ;D ;D

I can see where you are coming from FA because there are some things I like doing in the not so nice weather. I love going for a walk when it's snowing, even if it's blowing a blizzard, much nicer than a walk on a hot day. I seem to get more done in the garden on a cold, even windy day and I enjoy it more too somehow Saying that, I do hate days and days of no sun at all. I love the sun but not hot sticky days. Hope all that makes sense So you are not alone ;D

I love winter months, I don't mind the wind but prefer it not to rain, don't mind a bit of snow though.... You can always add a layer of clothing to keep warm. I quite like summer if it's not too hot, being fair skinned I can't take too much sun. And it doesn't matter how much clothing you take off you can't get cool! So FA I don't think that you are odd...well not totally anyway

I like all weather, although I prefer a bit more variety than we have had recently. Having said that, I'm not keen on really hot weather.
When I'm at home I like to have the back door open during the day, regardless of the temperature. I'm also not too fussed if I'm out in the garden and it's tipping down. My neighbour thinks I'm absolutely potty at times!
I don't think you're odd at all FA.

I am not a lover of really hot weather - but it is good to have some summer to remember through winters dark days I don't mind the cold, but I most dislike days of freezing fog when everything is cold and gloomy. I like a good breeze at any time of year I don't think your are that odd FA x Tig

I love walking when it's hot and sunny, but only if it's ambling for pleasure at my own pace and not charging about Not so keen on the wind and rain, specially if the trees are creaking and groaning - makes me nervous Like Chuckles I love to walk in the woods when it's snowing (not too hard!). The incredible hush is amazing, and it's sooo beautiful. And I love being the first person to put footprints on virgin snow

I'm glad I'm not alone then. Mrs FA thinks I'm a total fruitcake !
I even took the dog out last night when it was absolutely tipping it down. I wanted to walk further but Fickle had other ideas - she turned for home and wouldn't budge until I went that way too. I just thought it was great to be out in the pouring rain and wanted to stay out longer ;D

I don't think it's odd at all. I don't like it really cold but I love days when you have to wrap up but the sun is shining and there's a breeze blowing the crispy dry leaves about. I don't mind rain either as long as I'm appropriately dressed when I'm out - but I prefer warm rainy days

Im with you on this one Andy......i find nothing nicer than the sound of rain on the windows in the winter. We have a polycarb roof on the conservatory and the rain sounds wicked in there.
But the best has to be if im fishing. I don;t care if i never see a fish again but to be under my big 50" brolly when it's tipping down is the best feeling ever.
Never been a lover of the heat....even in the depths of winter, i have a fan on in the bedroom as i get so hot.

Well I took the dog out for a good hour last night. It was brill ! As for this morning, it's snowing at the moment and I really REALLY want to be out in it. Mrs FA, kids & dog have gone for a walk but I'm decorating our bedroom so I'm stuck looking at it out of the window. Mrs FA has threatened to separate me from my important bits ( ) if the room isn't done before Christmas so I've got to get on with it ! FA x

I can completely understand. The only thing I'm not keen on is muggy or dull weather. As long as I've got warm clothes on and waterproof shoes I am quite happy to be outside when it's blustery or stormy. A Total Weather Experience ;D We are pretty lucky in GB as we tend not to have extreme weather very often, with our temperate climate it's a pleasure to be outside...I often get funny looks from passers by as I laugh out loud when strong gusts of wind push me along (and boy, they HAVE to be strong...I am no lightweight)....
So no....imo you're not odd FA...it's them other people..... ;D

You know it's really bad when even your dog thinks twice about being out FA! ;D Where did you get the name Fickle from? Sorry, I've only just read this comment ! She's a female so Fickle is the perfect name for her........ Actually, she had that name when we got her and as she was nearly 8, it wouldn't have been easy to try and change it. And yes CPB, you're right. I'm perfectly normal, it's all them other buggers. Wibble ;D FA x
