They were talking on GMTV this morning about mens' refusal to ask directions, take advice, etc. Definitely a "man-thing" only. Perfectly illustrated by my OH, who is currently on holiday in the Canaries with family members. He didn't want to take suntan lotion with him. We have discussed this before. "Real men don't wear suntan lotion" apparently. He doesn't need it cos he doesn't burn, apparently. Because his skin tans easily (due to the substantial dollop of Gypsy Rose Lee blood in his family)  The first evening he texted excitedly that temperatures were in the 90s!  Next day he reported a blister the size of a pigeons egg on his ankle  Said he was going to put some factor 15 lotion on it  . I texted back that not nearly high enough if he's already burnt. No, no - he's fine! Having a great time! ;D The next day, 5 more blisters  He's going to wander down to the medical centre later No panic So far it's cost him 175 euros for first appointment, dressings and medication; plus another 70 euros a day to have the dressings changed!!  Got to sit in the shade No swimming  And NO ALCOHOL!!!!!  Possibly will not be able to wear shoes to come home  and looks like work-boots next week will be out of the question . So Mr-Tough-Guy is in deep doo-doos We are booked to go to Egypt next March. I am going to make him wear childrens' sun-block. Maybe buy him a Burkha ;D Or an all-in-one chemical suit!! ;D ;D What a wally!!! |

Oh dear. I can't help feeling sorry for your OH because sunburn is horrible, but you'd think he'd know better! My OH is the same though - he's not particularly fair-skinned but he has his hair cut to a No.1 in the summer so that he can look pink tanned all over! |

Men will NEVER change will they - that's our biggest problem Went to Jamaica with BF who wouldnt admit he couldnt swim - not a MAN thing not being able to swim So we went to the waterfall where yu "walk/swim" up it. Duns River Falls - google it - it is awesome - It took me about 30 mins I think to get up it - poor BF was dithering about for about 2 hours - his face as white as chalk - ;D I am not sure if he wasnt "helped" along I lost sight of him after 5 mins  |
