I was interested to know what plants other people have rescued from Plant Heaven ;D I got this from a lady on freecycle, she was going to throw it away and these were destined for the bin at school, pansies...

Oh hundreds! I really hate seeing them sad in the corner and will ask if they need homeing.
I suppose the cheapest I've had are a few freebies but the best was a five foot high huge fatsia reduced from £50 to £10 and she put it in the till as 10p. ;D
I couldn't do half of what I've done in the garden without the rescue plants. It also balances out the must have plants that you have to buy full price. ;D

What's full price? OK I do fork out occassionally - but usually only on birthdays when someone else is paying There is a major sense of achievement when 'poorly, sad and lonely' becomes healthy, happy and productive' I get the same feeling from growing things from seed though - all my babies x Tig

I too have had great success with loads of little bedraggled plants. I always go to the reduced section when I go to the GC to see what I can rescue. All they need sometimes is some TLC. ;D

I just took off the dead leaves and re-potted it, a couple more of the leaves look like they will die off but I hope that it will survive.

There's something quite special about nuturing a poor plant back to health. I will try and get a piccie tomorrow of the clem that I rescued from the bargain corner at the GC. Yours was even better though MRH because it was free!

It's not a very good photo but this is the Clematis Josephine that I rescued from the bargain corner at a local GC. I paid half price for it. It was just a few dry looking leaves when I got it - all the green leaves are new.

I've not had so many recently cos I've not bought any (duuuuuuh) cos I've not had anywhere for them to go. That's never normally stopped me before but I've been preoccupied with the house.
But I used to work at B&Q so used to get loooooooooads at dirt cheap prices. I probably still would if I went in there seeing as I'm still friendly with them all.

Is that a Spring time visiting plan then April I rescue a lot of plants and once I have too many I dump them at the plant swap. This year I was frighteningly good. Found homes for all 16 plants and only got home with one new one ;D I seem to have a good grip on my houseplant rescue feelings. Did not plunder the GC skip at all this year. ( Yes I know them and can go round the back )

That must require some serious will power Dutchy - I'm glad I'm not allowed any further than the bargain corner! ;D
