I have a crab apple tree and the apples are only pea size. Do these stay on and swell up next year or is that it Cheers Steve

I have one but am not sure what variety it is. the apples were about 1" in diameter. we've had a very good crop this year but the wind has taken them all now. they don't normally stop on the tree over winter

That's it Steve! They will ripen then fall off. Then you'll get some more next year! Crab apples vary in size from small apple size to, well, cherry size i guess.

The fruit on Profusion is small, about cherry size, but you do get a lot of them in bunches usually, hence the name.

My crab apple never has anything overwinter and it was pollarded when I bought the bungalow, we just pull off new shoots to tidy it up ;D it does look lovely at christmas though with our cherry lights on.
