Well folks, I don't want to sound smug at all but I've got the tree up and decorated and put the blue & white icicle lights on the front of the house today.
I've also already got just about everything I'm going to give Mrs FA for Christmas (just a pair of earrings to get), the kids are nearly sorted and we don't have many others to buy for so we're going shopping tomorrow to (hopefully) finish off our Christmas purchasing !! Even if we don't get everything, there won't be much left to get after tomorrow.
I feel very relaxed, and although I'm usually a "bah humbug" sort of person, I think I'm pretty much ready for Christmas this year.
How are your preparations coming along ?
FA x

Steve--Just like most men--Leave it to the 'Better Half' and then take the Credit for it ;D FA--You are well organised--(for a man) I did the Tree and decorations yesterday. Sent all the Christmas cards ( remember the size of the envelope for the postage stamp or the Post Office will charge them £1 plus for collection at their nearest Sorting Office which could be miles away!!) Wrapped up all presents.Collecting vegetables from a friends' allotment two days before Christmas. And I think--- I am more or less sorted--Just me and OH for Christmas- not like the old days when we had the pleasure of filling Christmas Stockings for 4 children and hiding all the Presents he was bringing for them. OH and I still fill each other's stockings (that Santa brings) to open on Christmas morning--just like two 'Soft Kids'. We will still be having a Turkey (already ordered) which will last for days. Turkey for Christmas Dinner--then Turkey Curry/ Turkey Stew/ Turkey Cold/ Turkey with Chips/Turkey Casserole etc.etc. untill we are sick of Turkey. Any other suggestions for left over Turkey?--- I am sure to have forgotten something--Bigs

The tree was bought yesterday and is now up in the sitting room - with no decorations on! Some of the cards are written and posted and some of the presents are wrapped - mainly the ones that have to be posted - that will be Monday's job! The boys have done their cards for school and I've just got a few presents left to buy. Sort of half way there I think! ;D

I have bought all the presents and wrapped all the grandkids already. x Tig So who you giving them too?? We ordered the turkey. Well to be honest, it's a bit of a strange year this time. We've still got the builders in doing a few bits and bobs so the house doesn't feel like ours again yet and as for the dust and dirt!!! Also my son is off to Indo and Oz for 18 months in March so he only wanted a bit of cash and daughter just wanted a laptop to take to Afghanistan so they were easy. OH and I buy something as an 'us' pressy 'coz everyday is like Christmas . I think the under tree is going to be a bit sparce this year. I've done a few silly bit stocking fillers but that's it. I wish I could get enthused about it this year but I think I'm more thinking of the kids going away in the new year and spending time with them than the actual Christmas part of it.

Normally, I'd have everything sorted and ready to do by the end of November. However, I've had a few other issues to be dealing with recently and have therefore fallen way behind.
I'm past caring now anyway!

That, i think, IS the actual Christmas part of it. the rest is trimmings and wholly dispensible!! I did realise Tig that I was a day behind, but not until I found I could open the advent pictures including the 6th

All cards written and posted, presents bought but some need wrapping, we dont drink but have some in just in case of visitors. All food ordered for sheep, dogs and chickens. Food all bought for us humans, except fresh veggies and Cream which Daughter can get from Morrisons on her last day as they open an hour earlier for staff. Yes all ready which is unusual for me as I'm always on the last minute. No or up yet till the 12th night Everyone.
