I think it's tragic that another young mum is dying from a horrible disease, and while I applaude Jade for using her "celebrity" to raise money for her childrens future, I can't help being bored of yet another headline about her.
I know I'm going to sound like a right cow and I honestly don't mean to be, but there are millions of people suffering from cancer and they don't have the publicity that she gets or the income to help support their families. I certainly don't want her to suffer and I only hope that her boys make the best of their lives without their loving mum, make the most of the precious little time they are going to have with her, and hope that she doesn't suffer too much.

How sad for David Cameron and his family to lose their son. Although he had disabilities, it's still tragic for a 6 year-old boy to have passed away.

It seems so much worse when a child dies doesn't it?

I think we all know someone who has lost a child
Something kicks in to give you strength - to carry on - the funeral arrangements take up a lot of time so they will be kept busy at least

FA x And doubly awful for them that they cannot turn on the TV or open a newspaper without it being full of people banging on about their child's death i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/cry.gif

I've been worrying about Dutchy since hearing about the air crash at Schiphol! Very close to where she is, such a shocking thing to happen ..

Geofrey Smith has died too. This week's Sunday Gardener's Question Time will be a tribute to him.

I read about Geoffrey Smith too. The first gardening books I looked at were my dad's, written by Geoffrey Smith I think. Dad wouldn't do anything in the garden when we were little without referring to those little green books He might not have been in the public eye for a while, but he will be missed.

Yesterday i saw on the news about someone in France breeding donkeys and pump them with steriods and sending them to Italy for the food market. This donkey sanctury raised £2000 pound when they heard of this and saved 4 of them 1 was only 8 months old. They are now living safely in England at the sanctury. I thought this was an awfull story those cute little donkeys being bred for Italian ravioli and that sausage they make I will never understand this world as long as i live.

Said on the news this morning that inflation is almost zero according to the Retail Price Index .. I haven't noticed!! Petrol is still dear, gas & electric may have dropped a bit but nothing like what they went up by, the food and essentials seem to be costing more, the insurance goes up every year, as does the TV licence As anyone else noticed things getting cheaper?

I was only thinking yesterday (as I wondered round the supermarket) how much things were still going up, and not just a few pence but quite significant amounts.

Absolutely agree Jasmine, I was talking to a wee lady in the supermarket this morning and she was saying how everything has gone up over the past few weeks and by significant ammounts.

I think the prices have been going up lots, but the paper today says that prices are going down. They are watching bread and cheese. Well they haven't gone down in our shops yet!

I'm sure it is all fixed so that it sounds as if we are getting a better deal than we actually are! Then all these businesses wanting to cut salaries or freeze wages can try and justify what they are doing on the basis of this clap trap!

It is shocking to see the pictures of the Italian earthquake on TV, something that we don't tend to associate with European countries.
Let's hope the rescue teams manage to save more people whilst there is still time.

I have actually been to Aquila - stayed with a family there about 8yrs ago. It really brings it home to you when it is a place with which you are familiar.I will try to find out if the people I stayed with are ok. I hope the bad weather there abates so the rescue teams have a fighting chance before time runs out.
