I reckon they could be Tahiti Tig - they are very like the ones I posted aren't they. I've a couple more for my autumn shopping list now Those last 2 are very dainty.

Question......................You know they say to feed the plants after they have finished flowering...well what do I feed them with and when do I start? I have only just finished deadheading them............
And do I water/feed to the bulb or sprinkles over all including the leaves?

I just go round with a tub of Growmore and sprinkle it where ever there are bulbs MRH. I guess you could use a water soluble feed and watering can it over the bulbs. I don't reckon it matters too much just as long as they get a feed and the leaves are left for 6 weeks after flowering.

I know that growmore is a multi-purpose but the m/p feed I have say Phosphorous...is that ok?

I would sprinkle about anything I had in the shed to be honest MRH. There are daffodls along the sides of the road in a village just up the road and no one does anything for them but they come back even better and in bigger clumps than the year before.

Thanks Jas...will give tham a sprinkle then...one more question.. how often do I feed them?

I just do the one feed and if I use granules and it doesn't rain then I help out with the hose or watering can.

I only feed my bulbs once when they have stopped flowering - then it's every bulb for itself!!! ;D ( I do wait 4 weeks, but often don't make it to 6 before I pull off the foliage...shhh )

If you had a couple of days of sunshine they'd be there Jasmine. I can see yellow. :)What's that behind them?

It won't be long LG but I don't think we've got anymore sunshine forecast for a while - my neighbour was saying she'd heard it was going to be very cold again next week Behind there's a penstemon and a few clumps of later daffs.

I've got Tete a Tete in the garden near the front door and they're showing a bit of yellow too, you have to look very hard 'tho. I've not heard the forecast for next week but I don't like the sound of that.

How fab to see them Jasmine. Don't they add something happy to the garden. For you it's the first of many no doubt. ;D

I can't wait - they'll all start coming out one after the other now LG. That daffodil is Narcissus Rijnveldt's Early Sensation/January Gold - it's a bit late poor thing.

There's an interesting article on historic daffodils in this month's RHS The Grarden. The article in based on a couple in Scotland who are collecting and identifying daffodils from pre 1930. They have an interesting web site too: www.croft16daffodils.co.ukIf anyone would like The Garden after I've read it I'm happy to send it on - I don't keep magazines and it seems a shame to put it in the recycling if someone else would like a read. Just PM me.

No I didn't Geranium. Up to now I've got my heritage daffs from Avon - I'll have to compare - Croft 16 has a much bigger range though.

Do you prefer old types, Jas?

They are much softer and more delicate looking than the new ones Geranium but I have all sorts - I love daffs ;D

I can't think of a favourite - Bath's Flame maybe. I dragged the family to Trevarno Gardens last year to see the National Daffodil Collection and littlest twin and I made a list of our favourites which we bought from the shop there. Now I'm waiting to see what I ordered! I keep telling myself to stop but there were a few in The Garden article that I'd love....Feu de Joie, Sulphur Phoenix, Cernus Plenus.... ;D
