We normally go latish March - we have been one or two weeks into April and the daffodils are beginning to die off.

Thank you FB hugs are very welcome at the moment. I think I've got a bud on one of my daffs too but will have to wait until tomorrow to go outside and see, the bottom of the garden was just too far away today.

Did you have any buds on your daffodils LNG? Spotted this daffodil (Spring Dawn again I think) and snowdrops and primroses this morning. Spring is on its way! If ever a picture said spring to me this is it. Daffs snowdrops primroses it's just lovely Jasmine. I've got 2 daffodils in bloom. i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/smiley.gif

When I was up in Worcs earlier this week the daffs in the garden were all up and in flower...mine are just sprouting up, only about 2ins tall.

Mine are mainly 2" of leaf poking out the ground too Barbara I've been tidying up a bit today and I moved a small slab that for some reason I'd put on the edge of the garden, not sure why I put it there but guess what was growing underneath it yes daffs, 3" of yellow leaves. I hope they survive.

Only been away 6 days and now there are quite a few more daffodils out in the garden! Found the tiniest wild narcissus in the hills in Calasparra, will post a picture later, I've never seen such a delicate tiny daffodil.

This is the tiny wild daffodil - it isn't a very good photo unfortunately. According to my Mum's Mediterranean wild flower book it is Narcissus Tazetta. The flowers are about 15mm across and have a very pale yellow centre. It was so delicate and if Dad hadn't taken the wrong path on one of our walks/scrambles we would never have seen it.

Got a few little daffs out where the hedge used to be, they were still buds at the weekend, the light must have brought them on. Its lovely to look out of the kitchen window and see them ;D

Do you/can you grow daffodils in Ontario Penny? Yep, for sure we can , i planted 50 bulbs though 2 years ago, and the squirrels have dug them all up for food, so i am lucky if i have 3 now that came up last Spring But they sure are pretty

How annoying Penny. We don't have many squirrels here (probably shouldn't have said that - they'll all move in now!) I would get very grumpy if my bulbs got pinched!

I tend to put my bulbs in pots now and cover them with netting until they come up.

Those are lovely KL, it's amazing how much they can come on with light and milder weather. Jasmine that's a lovely little delicate daff, 3 flowers on 1 stem too, thanks for letting us see it.
