Today, not far from where I live, a cashpoint has been paying out DOUBLE money, lots of people put there cards in 3, and 4 times ,and phoned friends to come as well, this went on for 6 hours, now I know its wrong but it does make me smile when I hear of cases like this, am I alone. (I dont think I could join in I'm sure they would ask me for the money back)

I couldn't do it either Barbara - someone somewhere pays for these things in the end, and there have been occassions when the money has been deducted from peoples accounts if the cashpoint service provider can prove when the error occurred x Tig

I wouldn't have dared cos I know they'd have just drawn out the money from my account to make up for the money they were missing. Banks never lose out do they!

The banks will have the last laugh because everyone who put their card in will have that card registerd in the machine and maybe the banks will deduct the extra from their acounts. Lets hope they havent spent it all. ;D

Makes me smile too in an odd sort of way Barbara but like you I couldn't do it. What really gets me is people who would and do do it, shear greed and dishonesty IMO. I suppose it all depends if the bank can prove that folk got double money as to if they can claim it back, not sure really. Non the less I still wouldn't it.

I wouldn't do it because the bank will have records of everyone who withdrew cash and will no doubt get the money back. I don't trust luck like that!

Many years ago i used to travel on the train to London. A chocolate machine started issuing two bars instead of one due to the manufacturers making the bars thinner. When they found out what was happening they put a piece of cardboard in the pack under the chocolate.
