Well, in fairness, she did make it! Actually, it's really interesting that your Mum names her quilts. Do you know what prompted to start naming them? It makes them seem more than just a quilt. I'm not explaining myself very well. It makes me think of mediaeval craftsmen who named the things they crafted. I chose the word crafted because I think this is what I mean rather than made, which sounds more utilitarian. It's also more akin to art, where paintings and sculptures are named. Hia Blod! I think she started naming them because exhibitions ask what the quilt is called on the entry form. Most quilts have names when they are exhibited but I don't really know why - I guess it identifies the quilt, or something

Absolutely Blod - of course the final choice is up to her, we were just offering suggestions at her request because she finds it quite difficult to name some of them. Sometimes she does a series of quilts, which makes it much easier, for example Out of Africa 1, Out of Africa 2 etc. Thank you everyone for your suggestions - they were all lovely and certainly gave us food for thought
