Did you know that from today 6 councils are testing a scheme to make us eat more healthily, they can come into your house and inspect your fridge and cupboards, tell you whats healthy and whats not, advise you on what to eat, and how to use leftovers. If any inspector knocks on my door, he will go down my garden path a lot quicker than he came up it . why doesn't this government get on with doing what it was elected for , and stop trying to be a nanny o us all, and these inspectors will cost US how much I wonder, at a time when the country is going bust.

" Potty isn't it?"
And the inspector would move faster down the path than when he came up it- A waste of our money--

Whatever will they think of next?? There's not much in my fridge except jars of jam/pickles etc, milk, spread and veg. But that's pretty much the way it always is, nothing gets thrown away. My Sister's fridge is always heaving but if you cleared it out you'd have to chuck most of the stuff away!

Absolutely crazy! What else are they going to waste our money on hey? I've just gone through my fridge for the Fridge thread and there's some lovely stuff: some healthy and some not so healthy - but what's wrong with that? As if I'd let a complete stranger into my house to inspect my fridge!!!!!

Absolutely no offence intended but some of you who have said you wouldn't let strangers look in your fridge have posted pics of the inside of your fridges on the other thread. I know we're all pals here but I bet there are several strangers on the board too <eek>. Some of them may even be the dreaded fridge police

Yes alfalfa is a type of sprout - very fine ones vaguely like cress I guess. And very tasty they are too. We often have salad with our dinner and it's another taste with the lettuce and stuff That reminds me Jenny - are you anywhere near Booths in Knutsford? From memory they were a pretty good supermarket.

Aw Jenny love. I don't remember the Booths incident but we always felt they had a reasonable range and local produce. I didn't think your fridge was too bad Jenny - it's not as though it only had champagne and chocolate puddings in it! And our fridge has naughty things in it: I try and bring LP up to eat healthily but know that treats are ok in moderation.
