Very sad news everyone, we had a major power cut and we think we have lost the rest of the eggs that where due to hatch. I managed to keep the chicks warm by pluging their heat lamp into the generater, there are 20 eggs left to hatch and not one of them is showing any signs of chipping, sorry everyone but here are some pic's of the little one today, they are getting their wing feathers now. Little Moley stretching up doing his exercises i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/grin.gif You can just see the wing feathers on Honey and Little Moley here Now for the AWWWWWWWWWWWW moment. even got its makeup right.

GUTTING. All that effort and you have lost them through a power cut. How often do they happen nowadays !!! Dreadfully unlucky. James

Power cuts don't you just hate them. Out here we have them more often as well. Some one is being mean with getting the equipment in good working order. Good that you managed to safe the chicks though. Have you picked up the black ones yet? what are they? As for that lovely golden boy.... Make-up? MAKE-UP? I thought that was OM but somehow I can't believe Om doing..., nah never erm is this one perhaps Egyptian? Something very Pharo like about it.

Thanks everyone for your support it is much appreciated, we will not put another batch down now till after we have almost finished lambing which is next on the calender about the 25th March we are due to start so look out for pic's of the lambs. I will keep you all posted on the chicks growing and what sex they all turn out as, as yet I dont think they like being dangled then again I wouldn't either but I am very gentle with them, they know my voice now and look up when I go into the brooder house. I will take some more pics in a few days time to show you all how they are doing. TTFN

I have raised the heat lamp about 2" today and the chicks seem to be OK with it (fingers crossed) they are quite funny to watch one min they are eating then they seem to zoom around the brooder ring then have a good old flap of their tiny little wings and off they go again, they make me chuckle watching them.

That was great to watch Carolann, they are comics aren't they dashing around and chirping away. One of the black ones is a huge compared to the others isn't it. They are all lovely but I think my fave colour are the lighter ones with the stripe, then the black then the orangey ones Oooooooh I love them all really. Thanks for sharing them I've gone broody now ;D

I'm glad it worked as I have not tried it before, took OH ages to find the right leads for his phone i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/grin.gif . The Pale Stripe ones are Cocks Chuckles going off the wing feathers and I'm not sure but the Honey coloured ones may be Pullets (fingers crossed) and the Black ones are definitely Pullets (females). We will keep them longer to make sure we are right.

I'm glad you have all enjoyed the video, I extended the ring to half the shed yesterday and the little uns where a bit reluctant to go beyond their usual area, I also put in the new water pot which cost me an arm and a leg but they are worth it. OH said that we should put another batch down, I said we will wait for a couple of weeks them they will be off heat and the new ones can have the heat lamp. i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/grin.gif I will take some more pics in a couple of days then you can see how they are all doing.
