I adore french marigolds in summern bedding displays...the colour and aroma is awesome. I always try to grow a few varieties for my tubs and always grow them with cineraria silver dust and dark blue petunias. Anyways, for the past few years, we've been growing this superb new variety which is calle the "Durango" range. The are big, strong but compact plants which make an awesome display. Well i was just looking to order some Ricinus from T&M and i thought i'd have a look at the marigolds. Well they now sell this Durango range. www.thompson-morgan.com/seeds1/product/4632/2.htmlSo if anyone is a lover of marigolds, these are definately worth growing Andy

I love the smell of French marigolds as well andy and they certianly look good. I normally grow "any kind" just for the first slug barrier but the Durango colections looks far too good to be eaten staright away.
Thanks for the tip.

Slugs Barbera...bloody slugs love em. Other than that, they germinate easily and quickly and grow on well. Keep them fed and dead headed and you will have a supeb display

Don't sow the seed too early barbara - about 8 weeks before you are going to plant them out is fine ;D
