Hi everyone, have just gotten in from work to find my delivery from J Parkers on the doorstep. I've got a bare rooted Euonymus europaeus Red Cascade. It's dry like a stick with it's roots wrapped up in a blue plastic bag. I think bare rooted plants should be planted as soon as possible after buying but should I dig a space tonight for it or will it wait until tomorrow? I should be home tomorrow around 5.30pm. It's so cold and dark outside at them moment. Or should I pot it up in a big pot.? Any advice at all would be so welcome.

It'll be fine tomorrow....just don't plant it if there's any frost. If it was me, i'd put it in a pot with just enough soil to cover the roots then leave it in a cold but frost free place until the ground isn't frosty. You'll be amaized what bare rooted plants will tolerate !!!!

I did as you suggested Andy. I've never had a bare rooted plant before and had a bit of a panic attack when it arrived you see. I was surprised to see it's about 2 feet tall. ;D
