Meet Bobby, whom is a young collie of about 1/2 years old. I adopted him from a local rescue center just last Thursday, he was found on the A96 which is the direct road from Inverness to Aberdeen. We do not know much about him, he is healthy and in great conditon after a bath. He spent a week in the center before coming home with me to be renamed Bobby which he alread responds well to. He is absalutely brilliant with the kids, playing ball and fetching anything thrown for him, loves his walks off the lead and stays close, does not chase after other dogs and if anything is a bit shy of them. He is well trained including his toilet needs, picking out the same area of the garden each time for his poo. I really couldn't have asked for a better dog. He has been nutered (is that right??) so going by that I believe he has been a good family pet and his jabs should be up to date but I will be taking him to get regestered at my local vet and get him checked over and a more acurate age. I'm glad I popped in to the center just to be nosey, and was able to offer him a new loving home. He's brilliant.

When I first saw him last Sunday he was cowering away and growling, I went back on the Wednesday and tho still growling he came to me and I took him home Thursday which was 3 years without a smoke. He never leaves me, always waiting at bottom of stairs when I go up. Don't know how hw will be when I go back offshore. My wee fella just adores him, always at him, poor dug can hardly get a kip when he's around i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/grin.gif

He looks like a lovely dog CB - my daughter has two long haired collies, they are both daft as brushes ;D Just leave a lot of fur everywhere, but I suppose the lady of the house will deal with that Nice to give a dog a good home .. x Tig

Yes well done CB.Re homeing an adult dog is always a risk because you dont know what they have put up with before. He looks a lovely dog and if hes been castrated he was obviously cared for you would have thought or did they do that at the animal shelter? Lucky Bobby finding a new home and family to love him.

There has been a development in the history of Bobby, today I bumped into someone I know from putting the kids to school and it was obvious the Bobby knew her too, she was certain that it had been her boyfriends mothers dog, and it did answer to Harvey, he is actually 5 years old. He has had quite a life so far being pushed from pillar to post. They had originally took him from his first owners for abusing him, then just a few weeks ago they were forced to put him into the kennells where I got him due to unforseen and unavoidable circumstances. From there he was adopted out then returned after being found on the busy road, where he had been is a mystery and it would appear that the kennell staff did not recognise him on his second stay. The poor dog does not deserve this and is now here to stay. No wonder he won't leave my side, just wants to keep someone that will keep him.

I do hope no one wants him back Christie - he seems better off with you and your family Did you get some paperwork signed from the kennels and fancy them not recognizing him - is he not microchipped Will you still call him Bobby - I think he might like that

Hi Jenny, he isn't chipped but I will be getting him done, he will still be called Bobby. I got a document from the kennel stating that I'm now the legal owner of him. The last the previous owner I spoke to yesterday can't take him back but is happy that he is with us as he knows he'll be looked after, and they will still see him, they just have to get used to Bobby and not Harvey. He's as daft as a brush chasing anything from water from the hose to reflective lights on the walls. Never seems tired and full of beans. He does have a wind problem,
