Some of the copywriters must be bonkers to think, we, the public would like that sort of thing and go buy the product

I don't normally pay a lot of attention to TV adverts (I must be the advertisers' worst nightmare) but I did happen to notice the new ad for the latest Peugeot 207 car.... I suspect the clincher was the classic Ac-cen-tuate The Positive backing track which has long been a favourite of mine. I think that crisps advert with Gary Lineker on the bus then his body suit deflates - I think that's soooo funny!!! ;D

I have changed my (earlier) opinion of the meerkat adverts. They have certainly improved from the outset and now come under the banner of classic commercials. On the other hand.... We Buy Any Car dot com is enough to drive anybody mad. The devious so-and-so's have even changed the intro now to no doubt catch people unawares. Mute isn't enough as the manic dancing is also very irritating so it has to be a temporary channel hop when this comes on. The novelty of the Go Compare ads is wearing a little thin as well now, especially the desert island one. |

I like the Iams cat food ad with the cat that can't read. He tuts when the doorbell interrupts him. I don't mind most of the others mentioned here except the eyebrow one I HATE that.
"I hardly ever buy Fairy liquid" makes a welcome return too.

I turn off the ad for Spex Savers where the poor sheep dog has been sheared - he must have been frightened when they cut all his fur off and it hasnt been digitally removed either
Am surprised it is still showing there are many brilliant spex savers ads already
