About the size of a small bucket. You could keep it in the kitchen and just put things in as you produce them, instead of putting them in a caddy (although I don't - the bins are in the garage, which is accessible from the kitchen, but I still put stuff in a caddy and then empty it into the bin when the caddy is full)

I ordered a caddy too when I ordered the compost bin.

I would suggest opening any used tea bags, as they end up as little turds when you get them back out of the compost bin. Mine did anyway, turned my stomach enough to make sure I always open my teabags. (that's not a euphemism, is it!?!?!?!)
I dry my teabags on the window sill, the inside, before putting into the used cereal box I use instead of a caddy.
I put a torn up egg box in the bottom to absorb any dampness.

10 days?? I've already waited 33 days and they said to allow 28 days for delivery!

what a load of messing about for you Missy, but if they are a lot cheaper I think I would wait a while, it's not as if the compost will be ready any quicker , you are still storing it in bags arent you.

I am bidding on one on e-bay, that finishes tomorrow night...if I get it I will cancel the council one, if not then I will give them a blasting again! It doesn't seem to do anything...they just keep promising it will be here that week and it isn't.
I guess that as they are offering it at £17 instead of £30 they can dictate...although I have just looked at the website again and they have gone up to £22.50 and are charging delivery now. I have it in writing, well a printed out e-mail that I am going to be charged £17 for mine with free delivery.

That'd mean more lovely compost for your garden MRH. I like bidding on Ebay especially when it gets close to the end.

I don't mind so long as I win ;D But some things run out while I am at work and then you miss out by pennies.
This one doesn't run out til tomorow night, so fingers crossed.
I could be doing some composting sooner rather than later.
