Thank you for your kind comments Dutchy, Tig and LG. The other trays you see with the covers still on are catching up to the marigolds, they are Aster, Cosmos, Chrysanthemum (Bright Eyes,German Flag, Summer Festival), Rudbeckia and Scabiosa. I have two daughters whose borders I look after and my mums too so I need a few plants. The veg are grown in the greenhouse or containers outside which are regularly "raided" by them. Good fun and healthy for them though.

Your Daughters are very lucky to have a Mum with such green fingers as you MH. It's great to have someone to share the fruits of your labour with.

I've been nursing this purloined little seed since I sowed in september 08. It got potted on today. I think it's a geum, red/orange colour but if anyone thinks different can you please let me know. I found the seeds one day while walking in the park. ;D

They are so very tiny Dutchy it is much more blurry than I thought. I do actually need a new camera.

They are tiny and blurry they still make clear what they are so it is quite fine. And any excuse for a new cam eh? I just wish those things are not so expensive, that is the ones I would like. Saw a second hand EOS 300D for 299 but it was without lenses and the like. The 350 also without lenses but with extra handle was 499. Anyhow I had a go with my cam after doing some fiddling and now things are sharp but the light wasn't any good. Zinnia low growing variety. Cosmos Seashell mix going leggy. On left supermarket Olive toms right Green Zebra toms. left haphazard Kohlrabi white and right leggy Kohlrabi purple left Dahlia cactus type; middle top Lilaluzuli Chilli; middle bottom Mild Chilli; right Aubergine

Dutchy it's great to see them all coming on is'nt it. Hopefully now that spring is under way they will get more light. I see you have a colour coded love heart thingy going on there. ;D My camera will have to wait a while I'm afraid. I need a holiday more.

;D I still use the cocktail thingies. Like labels you can write on them but they take less space. And hey I love my seedlings Spring yes please more light although you can see I have reflecting foil behind them which does help. I merely worry about our late April guests having to deal with loads of seedlings and foil and having to get the blinds close behind them

No wonder you haven't got room for anything else to grow Dutchy - plenty on the grow there My purple kohl rabi are in one of the veg plots and I was pleased to get 100% germination. The love-lies-bleeding (red amaranthus) seeds sown on 18/3/09 in the cold frame have germinated, well 7 out of 11 sown are showing at the moment ..

Update below The plastic cups are Toms, Peppers, Cucs and the rest are flowers with strawbs on the floor and a cup of coffee on the shelf ;D The larger ones are celery or what's left after the slug got at them but the man with the scissors got the slug?

Lot of effort gone in there Mowhay - do your daughters and Mum get veggies as well as flowers from you?
Do you have a lottie or like me, veg plots in the garden?

Tig, the greenhouse is normally quite full. I grow the other veg in containers around the greenhouse at the bottom of the garden don't have a lottie, the flowers are also in containers so that the display around the patio is always full of colour from the daffs through to the lillies, fuchsias and the annuals. The hanging baskets are normally surfinas but this year I'm trying some Sugar and Spice sweet peas on recommendation of a good gardener on another board. The rest of the garden is lawn for my granddaughters to play on as both my daughters gardens are tiny ( new build houses) so sunny Sundays are normally busy at my house. And they always seem to leave with "goodie bags" ;D

Thanks Tig
How quickly did your Romanesco start germinating. I can't believe it, I sowed a tray on Thursday afternoon, and I checked yesterday and I have 8 coming through already!
My mini red pepper have done fairly well so far, I have 4 out of 6 germinated and growing.

Tig, I had a go with Cobea after seeing Dutchy's wonderful display last year. I sowed both the purple and white variety and most of the purple have germinated and are making lovely plants, the white have been a bit more erratic. I sowed them on their sides, a bit like squash and they were kept at around 15 - 18 degrees. I've been brave and planted a couple out

Jean will you stop tempting me to try again! In the past few years I must have sown 30 of the blasted seeds, and yes I put them all on their sides - and I have had two germinate! First year I tried I had one, never did anything (wrong place!), last year my one and only completely took over the green arch, I reckon I had about six flowers on it I still have some seeds, but looking at yours (and Mowhays were well on there way as well) I doubt it would be worth it Thanks for the encouragement anyway x Tig

Tig That certainly isn't bad for the time of year (I hope I haven't done mine too late). I have also sown a row at the allotment and covered over with a poly tunnel. I did those on 10 April, so I shall have to see if they come through as well as the ones in my seed tray, which seem to be coming up like there is no tomorrow. Yesterday evening I counted 18 popping up.
