Anyone know how to prune it? It is in flower now so I guess i need to prune out the stems which have flowered, but can I cut back the others to keep the size down - at something like 6 metres it will soon outgrow its space

We have S. Praecox at work and they are a stunning shrub. Never pruned mine mate but i would trim them to size/shape after the catkins have dropped.
I wouldn't prune too hard as i would think they're the kind of shrub that would refuse to flower for the next 10 years if you did !!!!!!!!!!! Maybe a judicious thin out this year followed by another next.

Thanks for that Andy. I though much the same. I just want to keep it to about 150cm or so. I guess the thing to do is just to trim the tips of the branches after flowering. Hopefully it will get the message and bush out a bit rather than putting on lots of height which I couldn't cope with
