We spotted some last week when we were out shooting. They don't normally show for another couple of weeks. Very early this year.

There are several pairs here now - they have nests all over our barns and seem to be very busy doing repairs. I do love the noises they make..the sound of Spring and Summer for me

I do love the noises they make..the sound of Spring and Summer for me I've yet to see any - or swifts... feel they could make the effort to fly a further few miles north when they've done 6000. Huh! Looks like they're stopping at your place 4p if they're nesting. OM.

I saw either a swift or a swallow but could'nt tell which it was as it was too far away. I did recognise the distinctive shape of them 'tho. Made me think of summer.

We took the dogs for a swim at a pond at the top of the Forest yesterday and there were swifts (short tail) zooming along the top of the water. We thought they were after the flies but then realsied they were drinking. Very entertaining to watch.

Oooo they are back....saw two swallows this evening. The starlings have been back a few weeks and now that the swallows are here, all is right with the world!!
