Did you know, there are over 2000 species of bee in the world but only 4 species that produce honey ?
I read this in a magazine today and didn't know.
Anyone got any more amazing nuggets of trivia they'd like to share ?

Oooh, good ones Barbara.
Continuing the theme of your last fact, did you know that the word planet comes from the greek meaning "wanderer". It's because planets appear to move around the night sky, appearing in different places each night but stars appear fixed in the same position (relative to each other) each night.

Large animals ( cats, dogs, horses etc ) don't see colour, just black, white and shades of grey.....................how do "they" know that? I knew dogs could only see black & white but I thought cats could see in colour. As for how they know, I would imagine that they have examined the eyes of animals and discovered that the cells that see colour that we have are absent in some animals. I don't know that though. I could be barking up the wrong tree ;D ;D FA x

Did you know that during the Great Plague of Europe the Pope passed a law to say "God Bless You" to someone who sneezed, because it was believed that people who sneezed were expelling evil spirits from their bodies.
