The other day while I was pricking out some Petunia's I found these 3 little plants. Now the top one I'm sure is a Hollyhock but I don't know what the other two are, any ideas please. Here is a close up of the mystery one bottom left. I have no idea how they got in there either as it was fresh compost when the Petunia's where sown. I do have Hollyhock growing so I may have missed one seed. I have no seedling growing which look like the other plants though, please don't tell me I'm cultivating a weed.

I am inclined to agree with the hollyhock ID Carolann but like you I am stumped on the other two save to say that they look very much like brassicas to me, so maybe broccoli?

I thought the same on that till I looked at the stem which is like a little red/brown twig but soft, if you no what I mean. The leaves dont feel like Broccoli and are a lot smaller, the whole seedling is about 2" high but I shall just keep them growing in the GH and see what happens, I shall keep you posted on what happens. Thanks Spru for your input. It may be interesting to see just what they develop into.

Well 4P you took the words right out of my mouth, I was thinking Fat Hen too ;D then I thought the leaves maybe have smoother edges than that, not sure now. Looks simiar to some bits I get growing below where I've had bird feeders hanging. You must keep them going Carolann just incase they are something lovely

I too was thinking Aurac the green ones. Fat hen Not bad if it is as you can eat it in early life as a salad. Most people pull it up as they call it a weed ;D Have the leaves got a sort of pearly nobbly bits on? Aurac / Orache has many forms

They look like weeds to me, I think they are those yellow thingies that grow against walls, I hope I'm wrong though, because I don't want you wasting gardening time on the wrong stuff. ;D
