Has anyone one here tried the online currency exchange services, such as Crown Currency Exchange, or Travel Money Services (which are the two who offer the best rates online)

You have to order at least 2 weeks ahead to get the good rates, which are about .06 euro better than over the counter. That's 30 euros difference on £500! A couple of meals! i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/wink.gif

Can't help with on-line currency providers NO as OH always gets our currency from some little guy at Waterloo Station. He does a great deal but you have to pay in cash cos he's working on such a tight margin.

Could you try one of the on-line ones with a small bit of cash first to see if it works?

I've gone for it anyway and ordered £500 at 1.13 euros to £. It's all delivered insured and everything.

BTW - The reason I need euros is that, even though I told myself I would not be flying away and leaving poor OH alone again till the end of the summer, but I saw a deal I could not turn down i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/rolleyes.gif To somewhere I never thought of going to before, but when I read up about it (whalewatching, volcanic springs, amazing scenery), I decide I must go to.......

I got my Euros from the Post Office online, easy and the postman delivered them. You get a delivery day because you have to sign for them obviously, so you do need to be in. www.postoffice.co.uk/portal/po/foreignexchange?catId=19300210&pageId=fex_main&type=buy

We use the Nationwide debit card when travelling that way we only take about £150 in Euros and when we use the A.T.Ms in the country were in we get the exchange rate whatever it is at the time it can work either way but that way were not carrying too much cash and if the rate goes up we get it.
