So what is your claim to fame ? Are you Becks best buddy, do you mingle with the elite of Hollywood.....tell us your decent fame stuff.
For me....
I know the lead singer of the Levellers pretty well....we used to look after his daughter
I was at college with Chris Collins (Blue Peter gardener)
I was trained with another TV gardener (Paul Sturgess)
I used to look after the plants in Andrew Lloyd Webbers town houser in Belgravia, London.....that was amaizing !!!
Played football regularly with Steve Foster and Garry O'Reilly (both Brighton)
Might think of an few more soon !!!!

I've had dinner with Edward Kennedy. (Years ago when I was nannying - he was a friend of the family I worked for). I've been on a yacht with Judith Chalmers. (OH and I were on our honeymoon and she was on holiday with her OH). And, a bit of a removed claim to fame - my sister is doing some work for Chris Hughes (Chris Merrick - one of the drummers with Adam and the Ants) whose Dad was an artist.

Well, my sisters godfather is Bobby Charltons father in law. yes you heard that right. Mike Harding has lived in the next street to the local park forever. Michael Atherton lived next door to my friend Anna all his time in Manchester, the rest of his family are still living there.

I was in the same class as David Armstrong ( Middlesboro and England), I was on the telly during one of the Great North Runs and I had a conversation with Ray Jackson ( lead singer with Lindisfarne).

I was in the same class at grammar school as now world renowned record producer Alan Moulder and for a few months at primary school sat in front of Blackburn Rovers striker Simon Garner although he's one year younger than me.

Mine aren't exactly "claims to fame" personally but my brother was good friends with Perry Groves (who played for Colchester United, Arsenal and Southampton) and got a mention in Perry's autobiography, I played footie against Stuart Slater who went on to play for West Ham, Celtic & Ipswich and Rocky Marshall (who used to be in Holby City and has been in other tv dramas) was in my year at school.
Other than that, nothing. That's it for me. I'm very dull !

PS - The Lev's are a top band Andy. Seen 'em live a while back. That was a bit of a wild concert !

My dad's the one to ask - he rubs shoulders a bit!!
I've had drinks with Peter Howitt (used to be in Bread and directed Sliding Doors), and coffee with Jeremy Irons. I don't know them though!
About 30 years ago I was on Nationwide doing gymnastics. And I've had a letter published in Gardeners World magazine - does that count?
Oh and Liz Taylor has waved at me!!!
My OH used to play with Ringo Starr's lad Zak when they were kids (and his mum and dad went to the wedding when Ringo married Barbara Bach), and he went out with one of John Lennon's female relatives (but I guess most male scousers will claim that!) ;D

I've had dinner with Baroness Thatcher (well, she was on the next but one table), and Joe Swift (same table). I did a week's radio prog on gardening, many years ago. I made an appearance in The History of the Walled Garden, which was a GW Special, a few years ago, which was hard work. Other than that, I'm quite content not to be famous.

Still on the footie front I forgot to mention that I used to work with Danny Butterfield's (of Crystal Palace) father-in-law, but never met the man himself.

Very interesting to hear of all the people you have met or know!
My Father went to school with Frankie Howerd and reckoned he was as thick as two short planks!
I was in the same class at school as Bob Woolmer the cricketer for a while.
I met the astronaut David Scott, a really interesting person as you might imagine!
I also had a great conversation with Robert Morley some years ago when he was stranded at Wellington Airport. He was just the same in real life as on the screen!
I have met many sporting personalities and politicians, too many to mention and too few worth mentioning!
I have met a good many gardening personalities too, although the only ones you might know from your neck of the woods are Jan Taylor, Sam Peat and Harold Bagust.

I once saw the cast of Eastenders in a horse drawn carriage at Leciester Square and I saw Matthew Kelly having a drink in a pub in London. When I was younger I knew the lads that went on to form Depeche Mode (wont repeat what we called them but it wasn't terribly nice !!) My Dad has been on telly on a talent show back in the 1950's. My Uncle John was on telly when he was custodian at Upnor Castle in Kent. My Aunty Joan went out with Billy Fury and followed him all round the country apparently - my Grandad was not pleased Oooooo yeah and a few years ago I saw Lorraine Chase (luton airport - god remember that!) in blockbusters in Sprotbrough (she was in Emmerdale at the time I think) she looked a right mess too !!

I've had dinner with Baroness Thatcher Which reminds me, I've met Maggie as well. It was in the Summer of '85, on the day that Live Aid was on in London. I was at Clarence House as part of a thing called "Hello UK" in which a load of foreign students came and stayed in this country for a couple of weeks (We were a host family for a young lad from Turkey). Maggie & Sir Keith Joseph (education secretary at the time) were the guests of honour an dthey came and had a chat with us all. FA x

I have Monty Don's autograph. And Mrs Bill and I have been to one of Her Majesty's garden parties at Buckingham Palace (which incidentally took place a few days after the July bombings in London - Mrs Bill was a little nervous)
