A sign of the times?

In a way it seems to be a sign of the times, farmers struggling and all that. Yet it also has a strange appeal, which is what drove me to take the picture. What do you think?

The last time I saw one was in the early 1960's, he didn't have the phone at the farm and used to cycle to the village phone box.

But could it be that the farmer has been able to build himself lovely new barns nearer the main farm? Maybe he just didn't need the old dutch barn any more and it's not such a sad sight after all i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/undecided.gif

It is a sign of the times I'm afraid, farming isn't what it used to be. In our village there used to be at least 6 farms, now theres 1 and that only has a few beast so I guess it's classed as a small holding
