We decided to change from LPG Central heating to Electric. I didn't see the gain in keeping a cylinder of hot water for a couple of wash-ups a day, so I thought it best to change to a multi-point instant water heater. I also decided to go over to thermostatic fan heaters for general heating specific to the rooms they are in (we have an open fire in the lounge, for which I have a large store of wood). Plus an electric blanket. My wife has always preferred an electric cooker.
In the event of supply failure, I have an LPG twin burner and grill and a cabinet heater.
The LPG cooker needed replacing and the boiler is 30 years old, still working perfectly, Ideal W.

I should have added that all the alterations to the water piping were carried out using the existing 15mm copper pipe with a few additional fittings, many fittings were re- used. I had to remove about 25ft of 22mm pipe and replace with 15mm, It was originally used to supply a bath which was changed for a shower in 1982. It should save a lot of water (the difference between 15mm and 22mm x 25ft, the "deadleg" which is wasted every time you use it). The copper cylinder and 22mm pipe will go for scrap and the 15mm pipe will go into store in the garage roof. I am now waiting for the electrician to install the water heater and cooker.

Sounds like you have been busy Larkshall!
We have a gas multi-point water heater, and have always had them as you just use as much energy as needed to heat the appropriate amount of water for the job in hand.
Hope the electrician does his bit and it is 'all systems go'!

The electrician is phoning tonight to say if he can come tomorrow or Tuesday, but I've since remembered that i have to go to Thetford on Tuesday so I may have to delay it until later.

Electrician arrived 8.00am this morning (Friday), everything went well and we are now ALL electric. New consumer unit installed and all the existing wiring tested OK, it's been in 29 years.
