After all that old bother last year, I saved loads of seedheads and sowed all that came from them, dross and all... Some of the better results are just starting to put on a show, though less than half-size still: OM.

At the Future Gardens Show the Butterfly House was planted up with quantities of Mexican Sunflowers, large bushes too with loads of flowers. Which I thought was quite interesting. Mine have been pitiful this year........dunno why either.......

Mine are growing but nowhere near flowering, can't even see any buds forming yet!
They need to like cool conditions and constant watering to be happy here at the moment, oh and no sunshine!

I only managed to keep 2 of mine going but they are looking healthy enough. All they need is a bit of sunshine as the watring has been taken care of. At least I should have more seed for next year

You probably cossetted them Foz! I tried the soft and gently approach and got nowhere, then I just bunged them in some compost, scattered a bit over the top and hey presto they were germinating like there was no tomorrow RF was struggling to, and also adopted my scientific approach and it worked for her .. Better luck next time, if at first and all that x Tig
