Any bonsai experts out there? I have a very congested conifer bonsai - in too small a pot which I shall repot in the winter. Having moved and been away a lot, plus huge work in house, my plants have been neglected. Could I do some pruning now as it is looking very unhappy - needles going brown, etc.? Help!

You would really need to get a picture of it....from all 4 sides if possible. Don't ever let it dry out and give it weekly liquid feeds until october. Then you can repot it in March.
Get some pics and i can hopefully help. Or, find your local bonsai club and take it along....sometimes they have bonsai workshops where experts can work on trees for you.
