Went to harvest a few courgettes and it looks like something has beaten me to it! I dunno what has done this damage, but they look like teeth marks to me Quarter inch deep and over an inch long - any suggestions what the culprit could be? OH suggested hedgehog .. I am not convinced x Tig

Wasps Do they like courgettes? Plenty of windfall apples around for them! I wondered about the young blackbirds? There are loads hopping in and out of everywhere and they are inquisitive Hope it isn't a rodent - I shall have to sack the Cat!

My first thought was a mouse or a squirrel.

Oooooooooooh no! My sweetcorn is just starting to bulk up further up that bed - I will have to keep a vigil!
I have two mouse traps I shall deploy in the plot (don't think they will catch a rat though!)
Useless darned Cat!
The tree rat is still a regular visitor so I won't rule that out, little vandal that it is ..
Thanks for the helpful suggestions.
