Earlier this year I bought a couple of Lantana's from a well known diy outlet. They are lovely and very popular with insects, can anybody give me any information on them. They haven't really grown much since I put them in and I am wondering if they are a perenial or do I need to take cuttings? I really must stop throwing away the label in plant pots

They are a tropical perennial KL, and if you want to keep them you need to take cutting now and overwinter them in the GH, according to my books. Or you can collect seeds ;D (but take care they are toxic, the leaves can cause a rash and the berries can evidently be fatal!!)

Thanks Tig - I'll have a go at doing some cuttings - think I'll pass on the berries tho if its all the same to you !!

Take more cuttings than you think KL - I had trouble getting them to root and lost the lot last year - a particularly nice lemon/white one!!.
You can overwinter them as well, as Tig says - again it's the luok of the draw though.

After years of trying, I managed to get ONE seed to germinate this year (Lantana camera mixed) they are notoriously difficult because so many of the seeds aren't viable. I pinched out tip of the plant yesterday...and will be over wintering it in the conservatory....
