I was just changing the toner cartridges in my printer and I managed to drop the magenta cartridge I now have a nice "artistic" splatter of magenta ink on my nice cream coloured bedroom carpet Any suggestions as to how to get it off without smearing it all over the place ? Preferrably before Mrs FA comes home from work. That gives you about 2 hours to come up with a solution. If you can't, it's been nice knowing you all....... FA x

It's been nice knowing you too FA. Found this... Printer Cartridge ink stains on carpets While many of us have a printer in our homes, these cleaning tips are for cleaning a ground in printer cartridge stain. Use a butter knife or a plastic knife and scrape up as much of the cartridge ink or elements that are in the carpeting. You might not have much to scrape up unless the cartridge has been stepped on but you will need to scrape up as much as possible if it is a large mess. To get the biggest part of this stain out, use a cloth wet with rubbing alcohol and dab at the ink stain. Do not pour the rubbing alcohol on the carpeting as this can damage your carpet backing but dab at the stain with your towel until you are no longer bringing any printer ink out of the carpeting. Clean your carpeting further by using a mixture of one cup of water and a tablespoon of dish liquid. Spray this on the carpeting and blot it up to bring out the moisture. Continue if you are bringing out any of the ink stain on your paper towel. Keep changing over to a clean part of your towel so you will know for sure if you are bringing out the ink. Rinse the carpeting with a clear spray of water and a new clean towel. Bring out all the suds that may be in the carpeting and then let the area dry for about an hour. BUT...You may need professional help if it is magenta on a cream carpet i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/undecided.gif

Just had a google and rubbing alcohol appears to be surgical spirit.
Test a bit of carpet first in a hidden away spot.

You made the mess ... you should try and clean it up FA!!! Naughty man ~ but typical ... wife doesn't trust you to make even more of a mess whilst trying to clean it up (always a good ploy, but us girls know you know ;D)

I often have a spillage on my carpet and use a soap called Vanish
It clears most things up ;D

A large bunch of flowers for your beloved seems appropriate FA....Mind you, I'm sure that your OH knows that it was just an unfortunate accident. ;D
