I did .. after I found the right place on the 'menu' , and they automatically updated without any problems. But on the news they said that over 23,000 people didn't have freeview boxes which were able to update the new channel frequencies!! x Tig

Yes no problems at all here but we have three Sony set top boxes on analogue sets and they are fairly straightforward. Just select auto-tune and away you go. I've also done my uncle's two digital TVs today. His Sony portable was again easy to do but his Hitachi main set was a nightmare and even referring to the manual it took me 20 minutes to fathom it out. I spoke to my aunt on the phone this afternoon and she didn't even realise she had to retune her set. She thought that because she has a newish TV she wouldn't have to bother so I will no doubt end up doing that one too. All in all it's just the usual king size co#k up so familiar of this type of situation these days. Granted there have been the onscreen messages but why not take out full page newspaper adverts or maybe have something about it on broadcast TV some time beforehand instead of leaving it until the day itself? PS: The only new channel as such is Quest and I have just checked their schedule for the next couple of weeks via their website... www.questtv.co.uk/index.php/TV_Listings/01/10/2009It looks like ardent fans of Mission Impossible, Ironside, TJ. Hooker and Surf Patrol (whatever that is) will be well catered for but as there are no real programmes I think I will give it a miss. i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/lipsrsealed.gif

It took me about 20 mins to work out how to do my main brand new TV - none of the instructions given related to those on my remote
It was a case of try this and try that and eventually it all worked. I lost C5 but it came back again when the re tuning began
The digi box attached to my other smaller quite old TV was quite simples ;D

I sure is...........just ask Tig about my prowess with photography!! When we moved away from the kids we decided one of us had better be able to reset/set up things and it was me - because I always read instruction books and OH just blunders in, making things 10 times worse.....and then gets cross!!! men eh?? It also means that I am in charge of the tv remote control ... as he can only use it to change channels and get teletext ;D ;D
