Morning all
I brought a Ensete Ventricosum Maurelii Banana Plant back in august. I planted it up in a large pot and left it in the greenhouse. What do i do with it in the winter months ie cutting back, watering? Regards Sean

there seems to be various advice on this plant so I'm not sure which to follow. It has to be kept frost free so could be taken into the house. not sure on that one as the cat would be sure to investigate. Wrap in fleece if kept outside. Crocus tells you to cut off all but the 3-4 newest leaves. A site about tropicals said to cut of the stem and it will sprout once the weather warms up. good luck

There's a section here about Greenhouse plants. The sub heading exotics might have something about banana plants in it I think. I'm sure Andy or someone can help perhaps.
